FDA Greenlights FastWave’s Trial for Advanced IVL System

For decades, a familiar, frustrating rhythm defined procedures for patients with severe peripheral artery disease. The trial itself, led by Dr. Parikh and Dr. Venita Chandra of Stanford, will enroll 125 patients across 30 sites. They will rigorously assess whether Artero’s novel approach—prioritizing deliverability through a rupture-resistant, low-profile design—translates into real-world safety and lasting efficacy for those living with PAD’s painful limitations.

The vascular field is watching closely. FastWave enters a space pioneered by Shockwave Medical, proving the value of lithotripsy for calcified plaques.
